Cpl Hardy
Corporal Robert Francis Hardy Conservation Area. (formerly know as the Maple Park Conservation Area) is at the Northern end of the Mansfield Canoe River Greenbelt.
This area is located behind the DPW highway garage on East Street, it is best accessed off of Maple Street, near the entrance to the Cate Springs Well. There parking at the entrance and across Maple Street.
There are several trails, old forest roads, and paths through this area. There are a nice variety of trees and shrubs, with the Atlantic White Cedar being unusual to this region. There are two small ponds on the property. One was once the town “swimming hole.”
There is access for canoeing on East Street, just past the entrance, and over the river, from the DPW highway garage and Mansfield Fish and Game Association .
