WWII Boardwalk Project

Job well done!

NRT Stewardship Director Colin Cauldwell installed a new footbridge at Dorothy York. He was assisted by Emmett Huiskamp, JP O’Sullivan, and two helpful passers-by in hauling supplies. The footbridge replaces a deadfall which had provided transit over a boggy section of the Orange trail.

NRT Votes to Support Plastic Bag Ban

The NRT voted to support article 45 at the May 15th Annual Town Meeting.
NRT President Lou Andrews stated “We feel the article is a reasonable start to reducing the use of plastics in Mansfield”
The ban initially would apply to any retail location with a floor area of 3,500 square feet or more or multiple locations of the same name within town having a combined area of at least 3,500 square feet.
If approved, only two types of checkout bags would be allowed at retail outlets: recyclable paper bags or re-usable bags.

Plastic is Indestructible. Every item of plastic that has ever been created is still on the planet today.
We encourage you to see “ A Plastic Ocean.” If you can’t see the movie please read the document at this link or go to their web site PlasticOceans.org
