About

The Natural Resources Trust of Mansfield, Inc. was established in 1971. We are a non-profit organization chartered to acquire and preserve natural resources for use and enjoyment by present and future generations, preserve and protect wildlife areas and historic sites, educate the public about the wise use of our natural resources, and work with other organizations having similar goals and objectives.

The NRT and its members have been involved with acquiring, by purchase or gift, a majority of conservation land in the Mansfield MA portion of The Great Woods. Working with the Mansfield Conservation Commission, and agencies of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we have acquired over 800 acres.

The NRT owns land in The Great Woods, the Mill Farm Estates Conservation Area, along the Rails-to-Trails bike path, and along Hodges Brook in the Plymouth and Oak Street areas.

The NRT sponsors walking and hiking tours through The Great Woods,WWII Vets’ Memorial Trails, Dorothy York, Plymouth Street, and Strese conservation areas.
